The car park next to our apartment is almost raw dirt.

When the old church side building was demolished, they painted lines on the grit and set up payment systems.

At the time, we knew it couldn’t last long. How could the lines endure on such shaky terrain?

And now it’s closing up shop. Still used for parking but no longer a commercial commuter car park.

As much as I love concrete motorways, car park buildings, I look forward to a time when our cities are shaped for people first.
